Meet Sarah, Your Dog Coach

I’m Sarah, a dog trainer who believes in thoughtful, individualized coaching for both ends of the leash. With over six years of experience and a strong foundation in evidence-based training, I specialize in helping dogs and their people build reliable skills, deeper communication, and a partnership that works in real life, not just in class.

I hold certifications from respected programs including Karen Pryor Academy (KPA-CPT), New Zealand Certificate in Animal Management – Canine Behaviour and Training (NZCAM-CBT), and more recently, the Canine Strength and Conditioning Coach (CSCC) from NC State, and the Cooperation, Attitude, Relationship, Education – Trainer Certificate (CARE-TC) with Dr. Deb Jones. These represent both my commitment to science-based methods and my ongoing investment in improving what I offer to clients.

I’m also a member of APDTNZ and keep my knowledge current through professional development, such as attending the Fenzi Dog Sports Academy Camp (2023-2024), and continuing education through webinars, workshops, and advanced courses.

My own dogs, Charlie, Mantis, and Rou, are German Shepherds who train with me in Mondioring Obedience and Nosework. They keep me humble, honest, and sharp. Everything I teach my clients is grounded in the same principles and techniques I use with my own dogs: clarity, consistency, and compassion.

Clients often tell me they appreciate that I meet them and their dog exactly where they are. One shared: “Sarah works with the dog and handler in front of her. Every part of her advice and training is tailored to your partnership.”

Whether you’re navigating behavioral challenges, building foundations for sport, or just want to enjoy life with a confident, responsive companion, I’m here to help.

Let’s work together to unlock what’s possible for you and your dog.
