Training Runs – Nosework Trial Practice Searches

Training runs are offered periodically alongside selected trial events to provide teams with additional practice opportunities in a trial-style environment.

These searches are intended for training purposes only and are not official trial runs under SSANZ regulations.

Training Run Overview

Training runs are designed to allow handlers and dogs to gain experience working within a trial environment without the pressure of competition.

A steward will be present in the search area to assist with search flow and logistics. However:
• No judge will be present
• No coaching or feedback will be provided
• Searches will not count toward titles or qualifying scores

Handlers may choose to run:
• Blind
• Known

Please discuss your preference with the steward before entering the search area.

Video & Recording

Handlers are welcome to:
• Wear their own recording device (GoPro, body cam, etc.)
• Purchase video footage of their training run from CANINE.NZ after the event for training or coaching purposes

Entry Information

Training Run Fee:
• $15.00 per team

Training run spots are limited and available on a first come, first served basis.

Please limit entries to one dog per team to allow more teams the opportunity to participate.

CANINE.NZ reserves the right to limit entries or adjust scheduling based on trial logistics and venue requirements.
